The Four Major Angles

Updated: Dec 11, 2022

The Four Major Angles are one of the most commonly asked about areas of the chart, and after our September Group Tutoring Call, one of our students, Mary Sue, mentioned them to me as well, so I whipped up a quick reference sheet for these angles!

Download the PDF here:

Each angle marks a new season, a transition in the chart - AKA a transition in the journey. And I find that by utilizing the planetary ruler of that angle, you can really treat these each as their own placement in your chart to more fully access their potential.

Here are some good resources I found if you're interested in diving further into these areas of the chart:

→ Astro.com has in-depth pages on each angle; use this link to then click on each individual angle, "In quadrant house systems their angular house cusps are equal with the axes: the first house, the ascendant; the seventh house, the descendant; the tenth house, the Medium Coeli [Midheaven]; and the fourth house, the Imum Coeli..." https://www.astro.com/astrowiki/en/Angular_House

→ This was a bit more concise than Astro.com, but still a good overview of info from Molly's Astrology: https://www.mollysastrology.com/topic/angular-houses/

→ And here is another with some good visuals from Ask Astrology: https://askastrology.com/astrology/house-modalities/angular-houses-of-the-zodiac/

As you learn more about these angles, make sure you're comparing with what you have in your chart, and with the charts of friends or family! That is the best way to really make this information come to life. Comment below with your findings and any additional questions that arise!
